Nuapada: On Wednesday, security personnel discovered a Maoist encampment within the protected forest area near Gatibeda, located in the Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary, under the jurisdiction of Komna police.
According to Superintendent of Police Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, a significant amount of ration supplies intended for the Maoists was confiscated during the operation.
The Maoists had established this camp in the protected forest with intentions to execute a substantial assault on security forces and other critical facilities. Intelligence reports had alerted the Nuapada police to unusual Maoist activities in the vicinity.
Following a tip-off, a coordinated search operation was initiated in the morning under the supervision of the SP.
The team successfully located the abandoned camp and retrieved various essential supplies, including rice, pulses, salt, and other provisions.
